Welcome to St Helen's Church
Sharing God's Love with people we meet wherever we are
Our village church is one of the oldest in Lancashire with parts of the church building dating back to the 12th century. Located across the river Lune, south-west of Lancaster and close to where the Lune flows out to the Irish Sea, we are part of the deanery of Lancaster & Morecambe, in the Diocese of Blackburn and The Church of England.
It was approved at our PCC meeting, on Sunday, that the following will be the way forward to open up our church. This is a provisional plan subject to prevailing conditions.
If you are displaying Covid like symptoms, please stop at home and book a Covid test.
You are requested to take a home Covid test before coming to church. If it is a positive result, stay at home and follow the instructions in the booklet provided with the test.
From Sunday next, July 25th face coverings will no longer be a legal requirement, but please consider continuing to wear a face covering for the protection of others.
From Sunday 8th August all pews will be available and there will be one short hymn sung at the close of the service. Cards, saying ‘Please Do Not Sit On This Seat’ will be available for people who prefer not to sit next to someone outside their bubble or household.
From Sunday 22nd August we will add another short hymn at the start of the service
PLEASE DO YOUR OWN RISK ASSESSMENT OF THE SITUATION AND FOLLOW WHATEVER FEELS BEST FOR YOU.
Holy Communion will remain bread only for the time being.
There are 2 services in St Helen's church and ALL are welcome, 10:45am and 6pm (both require booking). There is coffee and biscuits served after 10:45am service.
Are you new to the church or the area? If so, you are especially welcome! Please do check out our New to Church
